INCLUDE HIM
“I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalm 16: 7, 8, 11
King James Version
Many times we suffer needlessly because we have not included Jesus in our activities. If Jesus would be uncomfortable going somewhere, we shouldn’t go to those places. If it would hurt Jesus when we say things and do things, we need to stop saying and doing them. The verse says “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy”. If Jesus isn’t included in what we are doing and saying or if we don’t include Him where we are going, we will not have the fulness of joy that He has promised us.
Thanksgiving will be here in four days and we need to be certain that we include Him in our preparations and in our family gatherings. I think sometimes we forget that without Jesus there would be no reason to be thankful. Jesus is the one who bought our salvation with His own blood. He is the one who suffered agonizing pain and torture for us on the cross. We can have freedom in our land, but only Jesus can give us freedom from sin, pain, loneliness and heartaches.
If you can’t find anything for which to be thankful, you can thank Him for the air you breathe. How we must hurt the heart of our dear Saviour by our constant complaining! He gave His life for us; He can do no more. It is up to us to accept Him into our hearts as our personal Saviour. For some of you, He has been standing at the door of your heart knocking for many years. Will you open your heart to Jesus today?
