NO OTHER NAME
“And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem . And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Acts 4: 6-12
King James Version
Jesus Christ of Nazareth ! O how I love You. You are the joy of my heart, the hope of all the ages, the bright and morning star, the beautiful Rose of Sharon, the Saviour of the world and You love me. Jesus, how can I possibly tell You how much You mean to me? It is a privilege just to think about You. Because of Your amazing unconditional love and sacrificial death on the cross, I have been made whole through Your precious atoning blood. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. There is no one like You, Jesus! O how I long to see You and give You a hug and try to express how very dear You are to my heart. Thank You, thank You, thank You for loving me when nobody cared about me.
Thank You that one day You reached down Your nail scarred hand to me, lifted me up out of the depths of despair, horror, pain and depression and sat me on Your lap of love. You put Your arms around me, held me close to Your loving heart and You have never let me go, not even for one minute. Please forgive me for failing You, for not being all that You desire me to be. I ask You to please help me to be more like You in my actions and in my words. Please forgive me for losing my temper at times. You know that I don’t want to do it, but I’m weak and I need You to please help me because when I am weak, You are my strength.
You not only are my strength; You are the Sonshine of my heart. You give me hope when I have no hope. You fight my battles for me and subdue my enemies. You give me laughter in the midst of sorrow. Whether I am sad or whether I am happy, You are with me. You never leave me, not ever. How can I tell You how much I appreciate, respect, honor and adore You? Mere words could never express all the love I have for You. You are the reason I get out of bed in the morning and You are every breath that I take. I pray that today many will stop playing games with You and fall in love with You and give you the honor that You deserve.
Yes, there is no other name as sweet and as precious as Jesus. Do you know this beautiful Saviour and friend? I didn’t ask if you are saved; I asked if you know Him. To know somebody, you have to spend a lot of time with the person. How much time do you spend with Jesus? You don’t have to kneel all day or have your head bowed and your eyes closed to spend time with Him. Many times we kneel physically, but we don’t kneel in our hearts. What touches and rejoices His heart is the condition of our hearts.
Have you surrendered everything to Him? Have you given Him all of your time, all of your talents and all of your heart? Does He come first before everybody and everything? How much do you love Him? Are you willing to do anything that He tells you to do at any time even if it isn’t convenient to you and conflicts with your schedule? The level of our service to Jesus depends on our love for Him. Again, how much do you love Him?
