GOD’S DESK
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”
Luke 10: 19, 20
King James Version
As I was looking at the things on my desk this morning, the thought came to me that God also has a desk. It is a desk so large that it can hold the picture of every person in the world. The pictures on His desk represent people who have been born again into the family of God. I believe that He picks up our pictures one by one, smiles at us and says “I love you”.
There is a stapler that He uses to staple together the fragmented pieces of our broken hearts. The stapler is His gracious heart of compassion, caring, tenderness, understanding, grace, mercy, forgiveness, unconditional love and kindness. Our Heavenly Father is loving and merciful. Because He has such a tender heart of love, He sent His only Son to die for us so that we may be saved and have eternal life. There is no greater love than the love of our Heavenly Father and the love of our blessed Saviour, Jesus Christ.
He also has on His desk a book containing all the names of the ones who have accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour. I think as He turns the pages of the book that His heart is filled with joy and gratitude because the people in the book of life have been kind and loving to His Son. Just like an earthly dad loves his children and is happy when people are kind to them so our Heavenly Father loves His Son, and His heart is made to rejoice when people are kind to Jesus.
Is your name written in the book of life? Is your picture on His desk? If you have never humbled yourself, admitted that you are a sinner, and asked Jesus to forgive you and come into your heart to be your personal Saviour, there is no better time than right this minute. He paid an agonizing price for your salvation on the cross. He was beaten, scorned, ridiculed, criticized, spat upon and crucified for you. That is how much He loves you. Please don’t reject Jesus and His amazing unconditional love for you. Say “yes” to Him right now before it is too late!
