ARE YOU HOLDING HIM
“Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”
Psalm 139: 7 - 10
King James Version
The Bible tells us that no matter where we go Jesus is there with us and He is holding us in His loving and protective arms. I think the question we need to ask ourselves is “Am I holding Jesus in my heart and in my attitude, in my words and in my actions”? Thank God that Jesus loves us so much that He is always with us holding and protecting us but it is not supposed to be a one sided love. We should love Him so much that we are constantly thinking about Him and what He would say or what He would do no matter how busy we are.
It does not matter how busy we are or how involved we are in a project or how many deadlines we have to meet. If we don’t have time to stop for a couple of minutes and think about our precious Saviour while we are doing these things, then we are too busy. We need to rearrange not only our schedules, but also our priorities.
Sometimes without even realizing it we allow our schedules, our daily activities and our deadlines to come before Jesus. Not only is that wrong, it hurts Him. He has been given second place in our lives too many times and we have hurt Him enough. It’s time that we give Him the first place in everything in our lives. He earned that position when He died for us.
He is there with us holding our hands when we are in the dark valleys of despair and discouragement. When we feel all alone and wonder if anyone cares if we live or die, He is there to hold us and tell us once again how much He loves us. When we have been abused sexually, verbally and physically, He is there to put the shattered pieces of our hearts back together in His compassionate hands. He also takes the horror, the terror and the terrible frightening nightmares from us.
He sits beside our beds all during the long and lonely and terror filled nights. He leans over our beds and whispers softly in our ears that He understands how we are feeling and that He cares. He gently wipes our tears away with His gentle kisses of reassurance that He will protect us from all harm. He really loves us and it hurts Him to see us hurting.
Have you made your bed in heaven with Jesus or have your made your bed in hell with satan? These are the only two choices and only you can make the choice. Have you accepted the sacrifice that Jesus made for you on the cross when He died for your sins? Has the cleansing atoning blood of Jesus been applied to your heart? If not, then you have made your bed in hell and satan is eagerly waiting for you to spend all eternity with him so that he can torment you forever.
Please don’t let that happen to you! Give your heart and life to Jesus this very minute and He will spread the sheets of forgiveness in your heart and cover you with His blankets of unconditional love, mercy, tenderness, compassion, grace and understanding. Wouldn’t you rather spend eternity with Jesus instead of spending it with satan? Jesus paid a precious price for you to be saved. Don’t let all the suffering, heartaches and pain He endured for you be in vain. Please don’t throw His unconditional love and forgiveness back in His face. Say “yes” to Jesus now!
