River of Tears, Glorious Peace
By Gerald White
By the river he sat in silence.
His tears, flowing into its violence.
The pain in his heart, unsurpassed.
Because his obedience, did not last.
As God watched on.
For a moment, inhibitions gone.
Forbidden fruit, he wanted to taste.
He tried it once, then again with haste.
Now an angry storm blows.
And he is aware, that his Father knows.
The land and waters are stressed.
While lightning bolts crash without rest.
Now upon him, awareness of sin.
The battle over choices, he did not win.
Now his soul drowns in tears.
Awaiting God’s wrath is what he fears.
Anxiety and turmoil, now race through his veins.
As he shivers from the great rains.
Lightning, like fingers of God, now rake through the skies.
His Father is angry! Please forgive me! Forgive me he cries!
But God’s wrath did not come.
Because God’s love , is the greater sum.
Forgiveness of his sin, has given him release.
Once again his soul, is filled with Glorious Peace.
All the Glory to God.
God has just recently blessed me with the gift of poetry, and writing since I was saved a year ago. God is strengthening my blessing every day that goes by. I am enjoying every minute of it. All the Glory to God
