"Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart, in full assurance of faith" - (Hebrews 10:22)
Faith - of course there must be faith. But not only faith - assurance of faith. How wonderful! Faith; assurance of faith. Yes, but not only assurance of faith - full assurance of faith! Full. So that there is no room for doubt, no place for doubt. This is full assurance of faith. Do you have it? The Lord Jesus enables us to rest by giving us, by His Holy Spirit, a full assurance of faith. He gives us the rest of spiritual assurance; and it is the work of the Holy Spirit to create this assurance in the heart. You cannot create these convictions; you cannot make yourself believe in the things of God; it is the work of the Holy Spirit. He was given "to convince the world concerning sin, and righteousness, and judgement, and it is the promise of the Lord Jesus that every burdened sinner who comes to Him, who takes upon him the Saviour's yoke, shall know this rest of faith, this rest of inner conviction and assurance and certainty in the Holy Spirit.
