What God Already Knows
God tells us in His Word that He already knows
what we need for the course of each day.
And He tells us He already has all the answers
before we even come to Him and pray.
Now someone might wonder if God already knows
what we need and all the answers to come,
Why do we even pray and why doesn't He just send
all the answers before our prayers have begun ?
But the true answer might be in the truth we don't see
for prayer itself teaches us to rely,
So much less on ourselves and our limited resources
and so much more on the One sitting high.
The very act of prayer is a faith-growing thing
and that faith often takes time to build.
For often in the waiting and the praying we do
God is teaching us to look for His will.
Prayer will also show us God's ways are much higher
than any prayer that could form on our tongues.
The answers He sends us prove He is all-knowing
and worth seeking till the long answers come.
Through the beseeching God is tenderly teaching
that He is always who He says He will be;
A Father to His children...who believe Him by faith
for the answers we can't even see.

But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Matthew 8:6-8 NKJV
