The Imperishable Crown
True faith that lives in the heart of a believer
will be the one thing that outlives the seasons.
For true faith will anchor the soul in Christ Jesus
when heartache makes us look for the reasons.
True faith will look around to see God is working
and will marvel at the things to behold.
For faith will make us see this life is but a vapor
but God's glory is the imperishable gold.
True faith won't stop loving the King just because
of the heartaches or disappointments of life.
For faith takes broken strings and makes them sing a song
of the grace of the Savior and Son.
Faith in the Master makes us read His promises
in the context of our lives for His call.
And we are held in the assurance that God holds the future
and He's truly in charge of it all.
Faith is the fuel that feeds perseverance
and picks us up when life knocks us down.
For we're the possession of the One who paid our ransom
and He's the prize...the glory...the crown.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible. HEBREWS 11:1-3 NKJV
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25 NKJV
