A Time to be Grateful
So often we may think we have it tough, our burdens too much to bear. Sadly we do not see the 'grace' and 'blessings' from God in our lives or situation. Our eyes wear as if shades, so that we do not look outward but only at our tiresome circumstances.
I had one of those days today; I was exhausted at work and wanted 'out'. God did me a favour and woke me up in a way. I discovered there was one family whose shoes I wouldn't want to be in. They were migrants to a new country and within weeks their little child drowned in a swimming pool. Their whole life has been ripped apart.
So the next time we think "Why me?" its time to say "Thank You God, the cross you have given me, the troubles on my shoulders aren't too heavy."
It is human to feel down, to want to give up, to feel despair but at the very heart of it all, let us not forget there is someone 'out there' who has got it worse than us.
Please pray for that family and for all in the world who carry crosses both big and small. Let us also take time to thank God for our cross, the size of it may be too little when compared to His or those around.
Today is a time to be grateful.
"Lord God please change us to be thankful for all that You send us. Please bless all those that struggle under the enormous weight of trials and tests in their lives. Lift us up too when we get weary in our journey to our eternal home. Thank You amen."
'The Living God is our Creator and our Abba. His Son Jesus is our Saviour and will not forsake us. He is our Mediator and pleads for us at the right hand of the Father. Turn to Him for all your needs and trust that He loves you and will help you.'
