MY NAME IS GOOD
The world conceives Good and Bad,
The Bad is like the air we breathe.
Where is Goodness? Where does it hide?
Yes, here I am as a lotus in the mud.
The single Good is like crystal-clear water
in the midst of the dark, murky ocean,
Before the group of evil doers.
But I stood like a glow-worm in the dark,
While they tried to fight against me.
I sought a company but nowhere else
Could I find the good I sought,
Because this pearl is rare in the world.
I travelled with a lot of bad company,
And failed to see my kith and kin.
I met so many people on the way,
Like a mirage in the desert.
They were very good at me at first,
But I could smell their deceit at last.
I tried to adjust with my opponents,
But there is a limit to do such a thing.
Is it a fault to attempt this? Woe is me,
All others treat me, good like bad.
All of them are hiding something from me,
But I know there is deceit in their hearts.
The sunshine is hidden by dark rainy clouds,
But sun is shining from dawn to dusk.
Windswept and blown by the blustery winds,
It’s time to reveal the hidden things.
Bad can make a company of Good,
But Good cannot make a company of bad.
Because bad is always bad after all,
Good is always Good at all costs.
