The Second Kind of Trust The life of a Christ-follower is full of lessons and things we must learn to let go. There are issues we take to the foot of God’s throne for the things that only He knows. We learn early-on to trust God to supply and we beseech him for specific requests. Then we trust in His timing to send us those answers and in waiting He gives peace and rest. But sooner or later, we all come to know that trusting in God comes two ways. It’s trusting God to give what we’ve asked for and it’s trusting through horrible days. It’s the second kind of trust that melts the heart to believe that God is sovereign in our difficult days. It teaches us to weep for the trial we are in while we weep in His presence in praise. The second kind of trust broadens our horizons to trust God, not only to supply; But to trust God to carry us through what we don’t like and the times when we simply ask why. The second kind of trust humbles us to show us that God’s the same when we don’t understand. Then our tear-stained eyes are lifted to look at His face instead of looking at what’s in His hand.
