Going up!
My football team has earned promotion!
From every side, with pride, devotion,
They rise like waves, each proud supporter,
They leap the fence from every quarter-
Men and women, children clamber-
It’s like a sea of blue and Amber
It’s such a joyful pitch invasion-
Each heart aglow with celebration!
True- I’d relished every minute-
Thought how hard they’d fought to win it-
Thought how well the crowd behaved-
...If they’d gone forward to be saved-
Then all the people there that day-
Could praise the Lord in joy that way!
If only Christians could aspire-
To play for God in Leagues much higher-
To win some souls to join the squad-
To score some winning goals- for God.

Reach out a hand to me
Reach out a hand to me- for I am drowning
I am drowning in the cold sea of torment,
For one I love is sick and I feel even my love
Is not enough to keep us both afloat
Reach out a hand to me- for I am drowning
I am drowning in the lashing storms of world’s uncaring,
With no dry land ahead to call my own
Reach out a hand to me- for I am drowning
For I cannot find work, have been cast adrift
And my family have no lifeboat of security
Reach out a hand to me- for I am drowning
For waters of my doubt close fast around my head,
Across this darkest night, I pray
I may behold a light,
As you reach out a hand to me, for love of God.

Planting a garden
Give peas in our time, O Lord,
And lettuce praise your name
Turnip for every work for You
Have Thyme to spread Your fame.
May we Squash all unkind words,
But- tend the soil and feed it
Fertilize with words of Love,
Encourage all who need it!
Help us to grow in Grace,
And may our garden be,
A place where others see Your face,
In every flower and tree.

(How To Plant Your Garden
(This e-mail inspired the poem!)
FOR THE GARDEN OF YOUR DAILY LIVING ,
PLANT THREE ROWS OF PEAS :
1. Peace of mind
2. Peace of heart
3. Peace of soul
PLANT FOUR ROWS OF SQUASH:
1. Squash gossip
2. Squash indifference
3. Squash grumbling
4. Squash selfishness
PLANT FOUR ROWS OF LETTUCE:
1. Lettuce be faithful
2. Lettuce be kind
3. Lettuce be patient
4. Lettuce really love one another
NO GARDEN IS WITHOUT TURNIPS:
1. Turnip for meetings
2. Turnip for service
3. Turnip to help one another
TO CONCLUDE OUR GARDEN WE MUST HAVE THYME:
1. Thyme for each other
2. Thyme for family
3. Thyme for friends
WATER FREELY WITH PATIENCE AND CULTIVATE WITH LOVE. THERE IS MUCH FRUIT IN YOUR GARDEN BECAUSE YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW
