LOVE IS THE ONLY THING LEFT
Love is the only thing left-
Clinging to the edge of a fraying hope-
Swaying above a pit so dark, you daren’t look in-
Love is the only thing left-
Love that would die with last breath needed
To haul that rope back up
But- hasn’t got the choice-
Love is the only thing left-
Only a voice that cried out to a God
Who’s seemingly so absent-
Only a silent cry that everyone can hear-
But why not God?
Love is the only thing left-
Love that is born out of transparency,
Love that is born of daring to be real-
That everyone can read that pain.
And he-or she-who dares, will win-
For God is not silent-
But sends on tender wings
The messengers of His undying Love
Freed from restrictions,
Raw and aching, generous and full
Freed in the tender hearts of others,
Unlocked by one small key-
Reality that does not stoop to hide
There’s really only Love-
And since we crave its warmth and seek it
In the cold of fear,
We know it is the only things that’s real-
What little we know now, in dark and hidden
By the cloud
We’ll one day know in light, when fearfully we fall-
But find that –
All there is really is- is Love-
And Everlasting arms.

THERE'S REALLY ONLY LOVE
There’s really only Love,
When all our hopes are fading
We try to smile but all the while,
We’re only masquerading
And all the plans and all the schemes
And all the future with its dreams
Just shrunken to the watching hours
That droop and shrink like shrivelled flowers.
There’s really only Love,
A love more precious for
The little time it had to grow
Its light shines out much more!
With searching flame, that scans the dark
That rights the wrongs, that lights the spark
And pain cuts out some jewels untold-
From aching hearts, pour streams of gold.
There’s really only Love,
And Love is all we need
To wash away the shades of grey;
The calculating greed,
With painful steps we seek to learn
Receive a love we did not earn,
And light a flame with pain to burn.
For only pain can really teach
The depths of Love we have to reach
And only pain can chip the stone,
Reveal a beauty yet unknown-
And give us wings to rise above-
And find- There’s really only Love.
