Shades of Brown: To a sparrow!
Little sparrow on the fence- So ordinary, no pretence Of rivalling the amazing hue Of kingfishers so brilliant blue
And no sweet song, no Arial dance Do you deserve a second glance? Oh yes you do! The sun revealing Shades of colour – so appealing!
From chestnut hues to creamy white You hop along with sheer delight! A cheeky little garden sprite With bars of white when you take flight!
God made you perfect in disguise To hide in trees, and mesmerise The cats who- it is plain to see- Can’t equal your agility!
How perfectly your colours blend! You sweetly flutter and ascend! God made you fit to do your duty But also made you brown for beauty!
