The Commitment By Shari Weigerstorfer
Softly, the Master said:
Do you remember when I called you? I remember it well. You had just given Me your heart.
I fell in love with you then. I committed Myself to you then. I would make something of your life. Something beautiful. Something to celebrate. Something grand. Even though at that moment I knew the choices you would make. The suffering you would go through because of them. I heard you in the future calling out My name in repentance. Regretting ever leaving the fellowship we had begun.
I knew all you would go through at the moment you gave your life to Me. And I committed to stay with you through it all. To cry when you cried. To wipe your tears. To heal your heart. Restore your trust. And build your life again. This is what I committed to when you committed your life to Me.
I called you. I called you by name. A name I had chosen for you; not you yourself and not your parents. I chose the name I called you based on what I would make of you. I called you what you would become and with that, the transformation began. When I renamed you, it was a commitment.
I anointed you. I made you special. Special to Me. Which gave you privileges and problems. It separated you to Me - and away from others. Seeing it this way will allow you to see your past differently, if you try. There is healing in this process.
Accept your past - as past. Give it to Me. I will gladly take it from you so you never have to feel it's weight again. I am the great dumping ground where the sins of the world are absorbed.
I take your past gladly. And with it, I will also take the guilt and regret. I feel it as you do. You don't have to explain it all again. I was there when you repented, remember? I forgave you then and I've worked with you to try to get you to forgive yourself. It's an ongoing process we will continue.
Come to Me. Spend time with Me. Get to know Me. Our relationship is what it's all about. Ministry springs out of that but ministry to others is not what your passion should be. Ministry to Me is what I have called you to and it's a deep love affair I'm desiring we share. One you will get lost in, obsessed with and overwhelmed by.
This is what I desire. Anything else that you'd desire can not compare with what I am offering you. I have chosen to give you the best, the finest, the ultimate. That which you were created to respond to completely and unreservedly.
I've committed Myself to you - for all eternity.
Come to Me, my love.
