I have a friend who is a dyslexic, and who doesn't feel that he requires healing prayers. Nevertheless, I ask you all to pray for his healing because I believe that our God is a healing God who is alive and hears the prayers of all who call on Him. Also, due to his illness, my friend has stored up a lot of brokenness and pain inside him and needs to be prayed over for inner healing. I pray that God lead him through a real flow of His Holy Spirit, so that he may feel loved and love the Lord too, and know that God has beautiful plans for him.

This is strange, because I am a teacher specializing in specific Learning difficulties, especially Dyslexia.
I pray that your friend receives healing. Maybe part of the healing is for him to find someone to help him.
People with dyslexia are compensated by special gifts. They can often see "the big picture" when our vision is clouded by small details. Your friend has not seen this- and neither can others, as they are blinded by conventional thinking. There is actually a book called "The GIFT of Dyslexia"- I have forgotten who the author is, but it is a remarkable book. I pray for your friend that God will provide him with someone who can unlock his special gifts and restore his brokenness and inner hurts.
Lord you made all of us special and different. I pray that you will reveal to this hurt person just what talents and abilities you have given him, and set him free to express all the ability he has and to discover the special purpose you have for his life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Thanks a ton, faith88. This is most encouraging.
Most of his inner brokenness is due to rejection and being labled stupid and lazy. He has had a difficult and bitter childhood, and finds it hard to establish a good relationship with anyone without being suspicious of their views and opinions. I appreciate your prayers on his behalf for I see that you understand him better than most people do. Thank you and Praise God,
Amanda

How is your Dyslexic friend now, Amanda?
I know it will take him a long time to learn to trust people and their opinions when he has received so much negativity and people's views of him are coloured by ignorance about dyslexia.
We ALL have things we are hopeless at- I have no head for numbers- was never good at Maths. It is so sad that so many teachers used to label children "lazy and stupid" when they had difficulty with literacy. I think now there is more awareness - but for many, now adults, or approaching adulthood, the damge to their self-esteem has been done.
But God heals all past hurts. It will take time, but continue to pray for your friend, and I will too. Also assure him that dyslexia is only a specific difficulty, that we ALL have specific difficulties of one sort or another, and that he undoubtedly has a special ability that God has given him.
I pray that God reveals to him how unique and precious he is in His sight.
