GOD’S FORMAT
“But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.”
Acts 8: 20 – 22
King James Version
I have a backup program that requires me to format the CD before I can backup my files on it. God also has a requirement. He requires that our hearts be formatted through the blood of His Son, Jesus. He can’t use us for His service until we have been washed in the precious blood of Jesus. We need to allow Jesus to do a search of our hearts daily so that our hearts are right in the sight of God.
Sometimes we become bitter, angry, critical and sarcastic and we are not a vessel fit for the Master’s use. The verse says “If perhaps the thought of thine heart be forgiven thee”. We may not express our anger to someone but Jesus sees into our hearts. We need to go to Him and ask Him to please take away all the thoughts that hurt and displease Him.
There are times when we are upset about something or someone and take it out on our families, loved ones and friends. When something is bothering us, we need to go to that person and make it right. If we don’t forgive others, Jesus won’t forgive us. We want people to forgive us when we make mistakes, yet many times we aren’t willing to forgive when they hurt us. None of us are perfect. All of us make mistakes. There was only one perfect person and His name is Jesus! Has your heart been formatted in the blood of Jesus? Do you have a personal relationship with the Saviour of the world?
