NO ACCEPTANCE
by JOANNE LOWE
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
James 1: 17
King James Version
When we give someone a gift, if it is not accepted with thanks and happiness it hurts us. The same is true with Jesus. He gives us the gift of salvation through His shed blood on the cross of Calvary. Yet, so often, people reject this precious gift. It must break the Heart of our Saviour when we don’t accept Him and all that He gives us.
Have you ever given people a gift and they made light of it, or said they weren’t worthy to receive it? I used to make light of a gift when it was given to me. I would say that I am not worthy of this gift until one day Jesus spoke to my heart and told me that if it is a good gift, it is from Him. So, when someone gives you a gift, thank that person and then thank Jesus for loving you.
Jesus was not accepted when He was here on earth and He still is not accepted today in many people’s hearts and lives. He offers us peace, joy, love, compassion, tenderness, understanding, security, happiness, gentleness and encouragement. Why do we keep rejecting these wonderful gifts from the Heart of our Saviour?
Have you accepted the greatest gift of all, the gift of the Christ of Calvary? Has there ever been a time in your life when you admitted you were a sinner and asked Him to forgive you and come into your heart and save you? If so, then you are assured of a home with Him for Eternity. If not, then you are lost and without Jesus for all Eternity. Accept Him today before it’s too late.
