GIVE IT TO JESUS
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Isaiah 53: 3 – 5
King James Version
Sometimes we become so heavy hearted that we can’t go another step or give another smile that is genuine as much as we want to. It is then that we need to go to Jesus and give it all to Him. He endured trials, sorrows, suffering and heartaches that we only have a little glimpse of so He knows how we feel and He understands. He was rejected and despised of men. He was wounded for our transgressions so if anybody can understand our physical pain and the emotional pain that we have in our hearts, it is our blessed Saviour.
Someone sent me an email a few weeks ago and asked me why I write so much about pain. It is because Jesus endured tremendous agony and suffering for us on the cross so that we might be set free from our suffering and pain. Unless we are willing to allow Jesus to burn all of the poison of bitterness, resentment, criticism and sarcasm from our hearts we will never be set free from the pain in our hearts. The person said that I should only write about love.
Unless we have so much love for our loved ones and for the world in our hearts that we can feel their pain when they are hurting, we aren’t loving others the way Jesus has commanded us to love others. If we have never cried out from the depths of our hearts to God for a friend who is hurting, felt our friend’s pain and placed that friend on the pillow of love who is Jesus, then we need to ask Jesus to fill our hearts with more of His compassion and love. If you are hurting today, give it to Jesus. He cares for you and longs to see you set free from all of your pain and heartaches. There is no friend like Jesus! No one loves like Jesus Loves! He is a friend beyond compare! Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! All hail King Jesus!
