NO GREATER JOY
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Psalm 16:11
King James Version
In the last two weeks I have been so overwhelmed with happiness, joy and excitement that I have had to literally think of something sad to quiet my heart because it felt like it was going to explode with joy. Every time that I think about the King of kings and Lord of lords loving me so much that He willingly allowed them to crucify Him on the old rugged cross, I am filled with awe and gratitude.
To think that someone would love me so much that He would die for me is almost too much to comprehend with the human mind. O how I love You, Jesus! You are wonderful and precious, Jesus. There is no friend like You. No one loves like You love. How I long to put my arms around You, Jesus, and give You a big hug! Jesus loves us with all His heart and died for us. He has asked us to love others unconditionally as He loves us yet all too often we fail Him in this area of our lives.
There is only one way to have real joy, real peace and real happiness in our lives and that is to stay in the presence of Jesus. Our families and loved ones can encourage and comfort us but only Jesus can take a broken heart and broken life and make it whole again. He gently wipes our tears away with His kisses of love. He has promised us that He will never leave us or forsake us, not even for a minute.
If today you are in the depths of despair and sorrow, go to Jesus and tell Him. He loves you and is waiting to fellowship with you. He will be faithful to take the fragments of your life and make you whole. He will deposit His healing salve of understanding, compassion, tenderness and love into your heart and you will walk in the fulness of joy knowing that you are loved by the Master Himself. Put your hand in His hand and let Him lead you in the paths of peace and happiness. You can depend on Him because He will never fail you.
