Love Broke Through
Life’s cruel blows had once
Hardened my heart
Pride had sealed it with a stone,
God’s love was a stranger to me
A love I had never known.
A heart that was dry and barren
And cold, like death itself,
I had a wounded heart
A heart in pain
Crying out for help.
The stone kept its protective barrier
Between the world, and me.
Keeping my self tightly covered
Hiding underneath.
Safe and secure from the storms
That had lashed me many times before,
I did not dare to roll the stone away
And open my heart anymore.
Years went by and Gods love
Started to chisel away
At the stone across my heart,
Exposing what was truly inside of me
And that’s when the healing began to start.
God’s love pieced into the darkness
Of my deep hurts and wounds,
The stone began to crumble
And love’s Light broke through.
Love picked up the shattered pieces
And placed them back together
Where they belonged,
Love healed and forgave the
Many things I had done wrong.
Love took what was dead
And resurrected it back to life,
Love swept out the unforgiveness,
Bitterness, fear and strife.
Love poured the Spirits oil into the places
Where my soul was empty,
Love blew out the ashes
And decorated it with His beauty.
Love touched my broken heart
With His gentle kiss of
Matchless grace and power,
Love bottled my tears
And gave me His joy to be
My strength in my darkest hours.
God’s love rolled the stone from my heart
And its powerful force broke through,
Love put to death what was old
And made my spirit anew.
Truth, Life and Hope are now planted;
And like flowers are beginning to grow.
Gods Love broke through
And now His Love is not a stranger,
His Love I finally know.
If God knocks on the door of your heart
Or tries to chisel away the stone,
Don’t ignore Him and pretend
That you are not at home.
He will keep knocking, hoping that
One day you will welcome Him,
Roll the stone from your heart today
And let the Power of His Love in
You will not regret letting Gods love
Break through and reside
Humble yourself before Him today
And remove the stone which your heart
Hides behind.
