YOU NEVER KNEW ME
____________
REVELATION 3 V 14 - 22
I do not need wealth
or abundant Prosperity
To reach out and touch those in need
I do not need resources, like tapes and CD’s
To be able to lift the poor from the ash heap
Silver and gold are of no value
If I haven’t got within me
The Power of the Holy Spirit
HE is the ONE, who can set the captives free
The Gospel is a Gospel of power
The Gospel is a light, shining in
These dark and final hours
I do not need to blessed abundantly
To reach out my hand to those in need
He has anointed me to preach the
Good news to the poor
All I need is the POWER
Of Holy Spirit working within me,
And nothing more
Do you remember the old
Sunday school song
About how Peter and John met
A lame man as they were walking along?
Peter and John went to pray
And met a lame man on the way
He asked them for money, as he
Held out his arms
But this is what Peter did say
“Silver and gold have I none
But what I have, I give unto you
In the name of Jesus Christ
Rise up and walk!”
We do not need prosperity
To touch the lives of the many
The disciples had no money to their name
But they preached the gospel with power
And many lost souls were saved
Signs and miracles followed them
Because they knew the ONE, in whom
They believed
They gave to the needy and the poor
They gave what they had received
They had power from on high
They healed the sick and raised
The dead to life
In this rich country, in which we live
We are poor, wretched and blind
Is there power when we preach
The Gospel of Christ?
We are not poor and in need materially
But have we considered that
We may be are poor spiritually?
We have everything we want
From plasma TV’s and mobile phones
To a nice car and a four bedroom home
We have food, and can even eat out
At fancy restaurants and have nice holidays
But yet we are the ones who are poor
Because we have so little faith
We don’t need to believe God
For the little things
We don’t need God like those
In third world countries
We are satisfied; we are comfortable
With all these wonderful things
What will it take for us to see
That God wants to prosper us spiritually
He would rather that we prospered in
Our souls and our faith was increased
He would rather that we lay down the
Luxuries, and stopped our greed
Are we really blessed to live in a land
That is prosperous materially?
Have we searched and examined our hearts
And reflected on how poor we are spiritually?
How many of us, who have the privilege
Of having a bible to read
Rarely even pick it up?
How many of us, spend time with God
Seeking His Face, and clothe ourselves
In Christ’s compassion and love?
How many of us reach out to others
And get beyond our problems and
Selfish desires?
How many of us, are passionate
About preaching the Gospel
And saving lives?
How many of us really care
That there is a lost and
Dying world out there?
How many of us are wasting time
On things that should not take our time?
How many of us, are humbling ourselves
Before God, and getting our lives right?
There is coming a Day
When the Lord will say
"When I was hungry, you didn’t feed me
When I was thirsty you didn’t give me a drink
When I was in prison you didn’t visit me
And you didn’t come to the hospital when I was sick
I was naked and you didn’t clothe me
I was homeless and you didn’t give me a bed
I was in front of you with my hand out to you
But you chose to look after yourself instead
“Get away from me you evildoers
You never knew ME?”
In shock and horror many will ask the question
“When did we see you like this Lord?”
HE will answer, “What you didn’t do
For the least of these
You didn’t do unto to me”
I think we should consider, our spiritual state
I think we, who are rich should get on our face
And ask the Lord, to forgive us for our selfishness
Humble ourselves and seek after Gods Righteousness
There is not much time to pile up for ourselves
Riches and luxuries
It is time to leave it all, go out into all the world
And get the GOSPEL preached
