Living Water
BY:Jerry Hoffman
The sixth hour broke on the desert
In the sweltering heat of the day
A woman, the outcast of nations
Came seeking, her thirst to defray
She came, knowing not her desires
And the thirst that she oft tried to quell
Would be quenched for now and forever
By her Savior, the man at the well
King of kings, priestly head of all people
Perfect heart in the bosom of man
Knowing all of the vile content of her soul
Condescended to offer His hand
Will you drink of the water I offer?
Let it course to the depth of your soul?
Drink deep from my well and thirst never
Boundless life, springing up, making whole
She partook of the gift that He offered
Living waters coursed deep through her soul
And she ran, telling others the message
With a joy that she couldn't control
Many souls in life's desert are thirsting
For the water, eternal, we bear
Though defiled, unclean, they are seeking
Are we willing, salvation, to share?
