TO HOLD YOUR HEART
As I hold your heart in the palm of my hand,
And watch you walk from a child to a man -
I feel tender and vulnerable along with you too,
As the Master carves and crafts anew.
To be able to hold you and see you so clear,
To understand your owies and have you so near.
Is an honor so very seldom known
From all the past seeds so long ago sown.
To be trusted with your heart
As you seek your new start
Is enough to make me tremble
As I watch Him carefully assemble.
The tatters and the frays
Of what has gone astray.
Lift and pull and gently tug.
All the threads until they are snug.
To see His image on the tapestry of your life
Come into focus as you lay down all strife.
What a glorious view having born so much pain.
Now that I have seen you I will never be the same.
May I never forget what you have shared with me
As we move forward into place and make history.
