YOU CAME TO EARTH TO SHARE MY DANCE
AND I HEARD THE HEAVENS SING
I GAZED INTO YOUR TEAR FILLED EYES
AN ANGEL HAS SHED ITS WINGS
YOU GAZED INTO MY EYES OF FIRE
AND GAVE ME A VISION OF HEAVEN
AND TO MY PARCHED LIPS
YOU GAVE A DRINK WITH THE WORDS OF COMFORT
AND FINAL UNDERSTANDING
YOU HELD TIGHTLY TO MY HAND,
AND PROMISED NOT TO LEAVE
BUT TO FLY ME TO THE HEAVENS HIGH
AND
RE-LIVED MEMORIES OF TIMES GONE BY
THAT I HAD LONG FORGOTTEN
MAKING ME UNDERSTAND
HOW COMPLETE MY LIFE HAD BEEN
YOU HELPED TO TAKE AWAY THE FEAR,
AND THE PAIN THAT CONSUMED MY BODY
WITH A GENTLE STROKE OF YOUR WINGS
WINGS THAT ONLY MY EYES COULD NOW SEE
AND YOU MADE THAT SILENT PROMISE
TO NEVER FORGET ME
I GUESS THAT I CAN GO NOW
I HAVE LOVED ONES WAITING FOR ME
BUT FIRST I MUST SAY THANK YOU
FOR SHEDDING YOUR WINGS FOR ME
YOU HELPED ME WALK THIS MILE UNAFRAID
YOU HELPED TO SET ME FREE
YOU CAME TO EARTH TO SHARE MY DANCE
NOW I HEAR THE HEAVENS SING
NOW I LOOK DOWN ON YOU FROM HEAVEN
ANOTHER ANGEL HAS ITS WINGS
Special Note: I came upon this piece
I had written over 2 years before My Mother
was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2002.
She passed away in June of 2003.
As I was going through a lot of my older pieces,
I came upon this piece and sat in absolute awe
at the words before my eyes.
I know that God seems to place things in Our hearts
to write ; for some reason that at the time
doesn't seem apparent to us.
But I have always trusted,
if these words were not for me,
then they would have some special meaning
for someone else's life.
I guess now I have come to realize,
that these words were for me.
Maybe these words
where really composed By God,
Inspired By My Mother
and I was just a conduit
to put the message to paper.
The only thing in all of this I am sure of , is this...
And
That God in All His Wisdom, Love and Compassion
was preparing me for just this.
Always know
there is not a message that your eyes shall ever behold
that touches your heart in some small way
that is not meant for you.
