A BABY'S CRY
Thunder struck and lightning flashed, Darkness all over the village. There lies the woman In terrible child-bearing pain. None to help her Other than her Saviour. She wept and soberly asked God, "Why have you forsaken me?" She wept unceasingly, And there came out a little creature from her womb. A tiny dark little baby girl, but alas, the earth swallowed the mother. The villagers mourned, Nature wept, Showers of rain Poured down from heaven. Yes, creation was shedding tears. That young mother went to her Creator. Oh motherless baby, Don't cry, "I am your mother and father."
(Dedicated to my Mother, whom I have never seen.)
