MY FARM
Dad's old farm, Desolate and uncared-for, The decision I made To go there and live was the wisest in my life.
The trees were planted, Flowers and gardens bloomed, The land became lush and green, Trees trotted the landscape, Waving paddy, filled the fields.
Suddenly it dawned on me, That I must have some animals too. Bought some cattle, Which attracted flies. It in turn created maggots. Chickens were bought To feed on maggots.
The grains brought from the farm attracted mice. Cats were bought to eat the mice. Shepherd dogs and cats were always at war, And I the peace-maker Always in their midst.
The dew drops on the beautiful flowers, Always smiled at me, whenever I was in the farm. I walked through the farm to watch the ecological balance, and praised the Creator for His wonderful creation.
