WOULD YOU LET ME BE
by JUSTINE
You are mine, that's what I call you. I named you with a name, and everything you needed I would grant, except you wouldn't let me.
I watched your tears as they fell, and I imagined you would call. Indeed I was closer than you thought, But you would not let me be.
The pains and agonies, sorrow and griefs you bear, I would help you carry if you would let me. Because I know how it hurts, I know what it is to be rejected. Betrayal was my companion.
Nothing you suffer is alien to me, I would weep with you, and smile with you my friend. Imagine your hairs, are any known to you? yet none of them is unknown to me. I call each by name, and I have numbered them.
Would you ever call unto me? I wonder what I wouldn't do for you. I'm consumed with love for you, yet you throw it back at me.
All that is mine, you would have. indeed I am willing, only if you would let me, Because I am He from whom you were hewn, your very source and origin.
From now on, I will be your Defender and your God, I will watch over you and embrace you. My jealousy for you consumes me, I love you and you are mine.
