Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
To call on His name is nothing unusual. I’m sure we all do it from time to time: perhaps even often. So what does this verse really say?
I believe God has given to us a very precious gift – prayer. There should be nothing more important to a Christian than to develop a regular prayer routine and a closer relationship with the Father. Faith can only grow through prayer, and the study of His Word, and they go hand-in-hand as we develop a relationship with Him.
With all the circumstances that we face every day—our jobs, parenting, studies, relationships— there’s nothing more important than our time in prayer. There’s nothing that we can do without prayer.
I know that without prayer, I couldn’t function and I would very quickly head down a path of disobedience and misplaced direction. Prayer increases my faith, and my trust in God. He’s my friend and my Saviour. He’s my Father and my healer; a refuge in time of trouble. (Psalm 9:9)Prayer is my communion with God. It’s my spiritual nourishment and my provision in all things for my day-to-day life.
Can we have a trusting relationship with someone we do not know? I know I can’t.
Do you need to reassess your prayer life? If your answer is yes, then “call on the name of the Lord” and He will answer.
Make prayer a regular part of your daily life and trust in Him.
Father, Help us to “Call on You” and learn to trust You in every area of our lives. Draw us nearer to You as we draw near to You and build a relationship that can only lead to a completeness of life. Amen
