LIGHT ON THE WATER
Early March,
And the sombre branches,
Ranged like a crown of thorns,
Draw forth my memory.
Of tangled choices,
Wrong directions that I took.
I turn a corner,
Faced with a different view
And Christ shines in the light
Not just redemptive
But glowing with hope,
Forming the sun
Into a golden ball,
Bouncing Upon the waters
And so God calls us
To live a shining life
Reflecting His light
Throughout the towering
Darkness of our trials
Finding reasons for loving
And for lending our lives
To the cause of His joy.
