Amazed by Love
At times, we realize that prayer Can be an act of love; Taking a walk with God, hearing His voice The lifting of an open heart; That offers all its emptiness for Love to fill Allowing God to speak, To soothe the aches of life, in silent song: Allowing time to be amazed by love.
Amazed by Love That made the season of the shrouded cloud And snow; when crystal shards, break sharp- Snapping from frozen streams; Making the harshness sing with strange shrill beauty; When whispers echo in the frosted air And promises that snuggle in the arms of home. Amazed by Love And Love Prepared an empty room, swept clean For pastel painting of the coming spring.
Amazed by Love that made warm waters flow again Lifting the green life’s arms in ceaseless praise. When loving secrets are absorbed In soft arched furnishings of ferns.
Amazed by Love Glowing with radiance in the darker days; A light that bathes the barest branches Of our emptiness with a beauty still unseen When lives are covered with a warm green fullness. When love is tested in the searing cold Faces the iron of starkest truths, Then can it rise and shine; Amazed by Love, Alighting sweet and unexpected Soft like a nesting bird, and stirring courage And a thankfulness Washed clean by tears.
Amazed by love that melts into a smile Across a leafy transformation, Amazed by love That colours flowers of hope Into the bleak brown earth.
