NEARING HOME by BILLY GRAHAM
In "Nearing Home," world-renowned evangelist, Billy Graham frankly shares his views about life and faith, from the vantage point of old age. Not surprisingly, he says that growing old has been, by far and wide, the greatest surprise of his life. Not even he, in all his wisdom, could have imagined what God had in store for him.
Billy Graham is confident that the Lord will not forsake him on the last lap of his long journey through life, as figuratively speaking, he boldly threshed the wheat in his younger days and now harvests the golden corn in his twilight years. He is growing old with grace as he sets his heart and mind on the Giver of grace.
Scripture is full of rich nuggets of grace in the lives of men and women, whom God called very late in life, very ordinary people who made the astounding discovery that the golden years can be the most rewarding and fulfilling, to be embraced as part of God's great plan for their lives.
In the introduction to the book, Thomas Nelson Publishers presents it so beautifully - "Billy Graham's life and ministry have been dedicated to the here and now, but always with a happy-ever-after in view....... He is humbled to have been called of God to faithfully proclaim the greatest message the world will ever hear: Jesus Christ came to earth to bring hope to a lost and dying world."

UNSHAKEABLE FAITH by KATHY HOWARD
Is your faith doggedly determined to withstand difficult times when the storms of life beat upon you with relentless fury? An unshakeable faith can keep you standing firmly on the unsinkable Rock, despite the storms beating around you like a turbulent sea.
The Apostle Peter was a very run-of-the-mill kind of person, a hard-working fisherman, very passionate and overly headstrong, famed for being 'impetuous, impulsive and overeager.'
Jesus singled him out for a most extraordinary mission. Simon, the faltering fisherman, was transformed into Peter the Rock, to lead Christ's Church strongly in the fiery face of persecution.
The greatest triumph of Peter's life was the fact that although, when Christ was betrayed, Peter fearfully denied knowing Him, thirty years later, Peter fearlessly died for his faith in Christ. This was his vindication.
What brought about such an awesome change of heart? God inculcated eight 'faith traits' in Peter to produce an unshakeable faith, guaranteed to weather every single storm in Peter's life.
These eight spiritual factors will give you an 'obedient, dependent and trusting relationship with your Savior,' to depend and rely upon when trials strive to unsettle you.
Life is full of the most extraordinary trials and difficulties. The only firm foundation for you to stand on is a rock-solid faith in God that is not easily moved. Peter's remarkable life reveals that God can transform a fragile, faltering faith into a strong, unshakeable faith.
Trait One reveals that you are secure in the love of God who chose you to be His very own.
In Luke 5:1-11, Jesus saw Peter and his friends washing their nets and getting ready to go home after fishing all night to no avail. Yet, Jesus told Peter 'to take the boat back out into the water and put the freshly-cleaned nets down for a catch.' Peter stared at Jesus in disbelief but obeyed Him at once. There instantly occurred an incredible miracle right in front of their eyes. 'The catch was so large they had to call for another boat.'
Two other miracles also occurred simultaneously in Peter's heart. Peter's perception of Jesus changed in the twinkling of an eye. He saw His Master in a new light. Peter's perception of himself also changed radically. As he perceived Christ's awesome power and authority, he also became acutely aware of his own wretchedness. A deep sense of sin overwhelmed him. 'Now Peter was ready to follow Jesus.'

FINDING TRUE FREEDOM IN CHRIST
"Finding True Freedom From the White House to the World" is an outstanding memoir of Harry S. Dent by his devoted daughter, Ginny Dent Brant.
Harry S. Dent was a most inspiring leader, a powerful political heavyweight, a hard-driving activist and a trailblazing pioneer, but his greatest and most profound impact was as a humble and dedicated servant who led countless people to Christ.
Harry loved God and here lies his true greatness. His passion for truth won him the greatest victory in his life. He was a courageous man who did not flinch in the face of adversity. Harry passionately stood for freedom and staunchly defended it. Freedom is a striking paradox. It involves answering God's call for our lives. Harry responded to God's call and he found life in all its fullness.
As Ginny describes it vividly, Harry's "passionate love glows incandescently - for America, then for God." After the darkness of Watergate drew a veil over a distressing chapter of Harry's political life, another whole lifetime began for him. It was a new day and a new time in which Harry's own Watergate experience prompted him to begin an eternal and never-ending quest for the ultimate truth.
Harry S. Dent was a visionary, quick to view a good cause as an opportunity to do what was right. He was a good person at heart, a man of courage and integrity. As Ginny says, "God had my father's heart in His hands, and He was changing him day by day." In February 1978, Harry Dent, aged forty-eight, finally gave his heart and life to God. It is not surprising to know that his greatest days were still ahead, waiting to see the light of dawn in the wings of time.
When Harry Dent invited Christ into his life, the change in him was real and lasting. He became aware of what freedom truly is. He was powered and propelled by a passionate love for God and for people, which eventually led to the birth of his ministry called "Laity Alive and Serving", whose motto was "The Purpose of Life is to serve God." It was a channel for Harry to exhort people to live wholeheartedly for Christ.
For Ginny, supporting her dad in his ministry was one of the greatest joys of her life. It was something she did for about fifteen years. She writes, "We were the father-daughter duo, and God's intervention in our lives made for a powerful story."
When Harry Dent eventually left politics in 1981, he sensed that God had chosen him for a special call and divine purpose. He decided to follow God's agenda and God's plan for his life. Harry's testimony states, "I am free in Christ." Ginny adds that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. "And only in Him can we find true freedom." "Freedom from bondage to sin is a precious gift indeed." Harry was striving "to know Him and make Him known."
Confronting life's key question, "What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?", Ginny reveals the awesome secret of how to confront death itself. Writing about a friend whose gteatest fear was facing death, Ginny narrates how he learnt to face death with grace, kneeling at the foot of the cross of Calvary.
Harry and his wife, Betty knew with all their heart that they must first connect to God in order to be successful in carrying out His plan for their lives. They learnt to depend on God each moment of every day. They knew that safety was being right in the middle of God's will, where there is divine peace and security. They refused to fit into a certain pattern, having discovered that they were unique, one-of-a-kind people, who loved God with their whole heart and soul.
Ginny Dent Brant has written a soul-stirring story of her father's life, filled with some of the most inspiring spiritual insights and thoughtful reflections of God's divine love and grace towards her family. As they passed through the long dark tunnel of their father's illness together, not one of them has forgotten what God did for their father. They saw God's Hand in their family, and they were grateful.
Harry Dent and his devoted family found their true freedom in Christ, stepping out confidently from the White House to the world. Ginny discovered that "freedom is a tremendous gift - and freedom in Christ is the best kind of freedom one can acquire." To God be all the glory!

''TREASURING EMMA'' by Kathleen Fuller
'Treasuring Emma' by Kathleen Fuller is a heartwarming, emotionally layered story, aiming to discover the truth that lies hidden within every heart. It plumbs the deep-rooted depths of the Amish faith and explores the most intimate struggles of the human heart in relation to its faith.
When Adam, Emma's first love, goes away in search of better pastures, Emma is heartbroken. Later when Adam finally returns, Emma is determined to keep her heart and emotions under firm control, as she struggled to cope with the thorn of grief that pierced her heart. First her father's death and then, her mother's. It almost seemed too much to bear.
Left bereft and confused, Emma fought to control her rapidly changing emotions. She built a thick, emotional wall protectively around her, for her own safekeeping. All she wanted was to be left alone as she struggled to come to terms with her incessant grief. With both her parents gone, Emma was forced to face a bleak future. Poignant memories left her helpless and defenceless. An emptiness gnawed pitifully at her heart.
Emma didn't have anything of value left in her solitary life. There was absolutely nothing at all. Her life, once so full of hope and faith, had been shattered into the bare core of an empty shell. Would she ever feel whole again? Emma longed for her life to be restored to the way it was when her parents were alive and well. Those were the days of peace and serenity when life was tranquil, and there were no cares at all. Would the good old days ever come back again?
There was only one person in the world whom she wished to see. Only his kind-hearted words could soothe her broken heart and assuage her grief. But he had walked out of her life two years ago, and she had absolutely no hope that he would ever walk back in again. If Adam and Emma were ever to be together, God would have to make that happen in His own time and way.
An invisible aura of dejection hung over Emma. This certainly was not the brave and courageous Emma everyone knew. She had a dare-devil reputation for never refusing a challenge, and she adamantly refused to accept difficult circumstances without attempting to change them for the better. Emma's heart ached pitifully. She knew that she should be taking her worries to God. But on second thoughts, why should she even bother when apparently God had taken so much from her? Strange thoughts plagued Emma's mind and gave her no respite.
Emma knew deep down in her heart that God loved her and wanted the very best for her life. She had lost everything that was dear to her heart. And it suddenly occurred to her that now she would be expected to be thankful to God because of it. She was immersed in sadness and grief. Time stood still for her, the one thing that had not been taken from her. She was hurt, shattered and grieving. She clung to the memories she had left. Like her grandmother, Emma had lost the ones she loved most in her life. Yet her grandmother could thank God in her deepest sorrow and celebrate His mercy in her grief. Emma struggled to emulate her good example.
Of all the people Emma knew, Adam was the only one who could understand her. His words cut through her pain to reach into her heart and give her much-needed comfort and solace. He himself had no idea how easily he could do it. A kind look, a friendly touch, a smile often worked wonders in Emma's aching heart. Memories of their relationship came flooding back, driving an arrow of pain into Adam's heart. Time had not healed the wound. Adam would have to find his own answers, in his own way.
"There's only one thing I am sure of," said Emma. The expression of misery in her eyes nearly broke Adam's heart. "I'm not in control of what happens in my life. I don't have a choice."
"It's about you having choices," clarified Adam. "About you knowing who is in control of your life."
"You will never be alone. You will always have God."
"God will provide." Emma did not know how. It certainly was not her place to know. It was definitely her place to hold on to her faith and accept the circumstances in her life as bravely as she could. She struggled to control her tears. At one time, she would have been sorely tempted to refuse the help people offered out of their compassion and generosity. Her innate pride would have kept her entangled in a bitter snare. Not anymore. This was the wonderful way in which God provided. Through people who loved God and who cared enough to give of themselves wholeheartedly. Emma would accept the help they offered so selflessly, and fervently hope that at some stage of her own life, she would be able to offer the same compassion and help to someone else in need.
Emma was a brave and courageous woman who knew her own heart and mind. It had taken her a while to get there, but she knew the truth now. "God never breaks His promises. He is true to us, and requires that we be true to Him and to one another." A total transformation. This was certainly what it was all about. To be able to connect with God, family and community. To find peace, contentment and love in God's will. Nothing else was important. In joy and sorrow, today and tomorrow, the Lord was present, and He made all the difference.
Adam finally made an important discovery. "I finally know what's important. What's real. What I've been searching for. Without family, I'm empty. Without God, I'm nothing. Without love, I can't survive."

BILLY GRAHAM IN QUOTES by Franklin Graham with Donna Lee Toney
In an artificial world that invests all its dazzling hopes and aspirations in consumerism and materialism, making gigantic strides in technological advances and enjoying total freedom from moral values, Billy Graham frankly and unapologetically presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ with authority, quoting boldly from the Word of God, faithfully and passionately for the past seventy years.
"Billy Graham in Quotes" by Franklin Graham with Donna Lee Toney, is a historic anthology of epic proportions, spanning seven decades of worldwide ministry, and featuring an extraordinary collection of the most exceptional quotes, assiduously drawn from the published and private writings of the world-renowned evangelist, Billy Graham, who has presented the Gospel to "more people face-to-face than anyone else in history, on every continent of the world, in more than 185 countries."
These quotes are filled with hope, truth and redemption, seeking lost souls searching for God. Billy Graham strives to bring God's Word to the hearts of people in daily life. "When we preach or teach the Scriptures," he wrote, "we open the door for the Holy Spirit to do His work.... God has promised to bless His Word." Billy Graham prayed that "his words would reflect God's standard of truth" and that lost souls will "be drawn by the Holy Spirit to the foot of the Cross, where forgiveness is found and salvation through grace is granted."

INTERVIEW WITH TIM SINCLAIR
TIM SINCLAIRTim Sinclair is a radio personality on one of the top Christian morning shows in the country, "Mornings with Tim and Pam." For over a decade, he has been helping radio stations and various other businesses creatively and effectively market themselves. His award-winning productions have been heard on more than 2,000 radio stations worldwide and recent clients include McDonald's, Word Records, Moody Press, and the country's most-listened to Christian nonprofit radio station KSBJ/Houston. Tim has written for CCM Magazine and the Huntsville Times.
________________________________
INTERVIEW WITH TIM SINCLAIR
________________________________
1. How did you become a writer?
While I've always enjoyed writing, I've never thought much about making it a career. Spending the last 14 years in radio however, I have gotten to do a lot of writing. I frequently script copy for our website, email newsletter, on-air newscasts, and produced promos. Several years ago I began blogging as well, mostly as a natural outgrowth of the topics we discussed on my morning show. Within a few months, I realized that I had a potential book idea, and it wasn't long before the search was on for an agent and publisher.
2. What do you enjoy most about writing?
I love communicating an idea creatively and (hopefully) effectively. That's what we try to do every day on the radio, and writing allows me to expand many of these ideas even further. My mom always said that she thought I was going to be a lawyer, and I definitely think there is a part of me that enjoys researching a topic, organizing my thoughts, and then making a clear, concise case for my position.
3. What prompted you to write "Branded: Sharing Jesus with a Consumer Culture?"
A conversation with an old friend (who turned out to be an agnostic) was what really prompted the idea. I learned a lot from him about what our current culture thinks of Christians and why. He challenged me to think through what I believe and why I believe it. But, ultimately, our discussions revealed how poorly Christians (as a whole) have done at truly reflecting who Jesus is. Branded became a challenge to Christians to reflect who Jesus truly is, rather than who many of us have made him out to be.
4. How would you describe your book and your style of writing?
My style is direct and brief, with a slightly humorous edge every now and then. Branded reads more like a series of blog posts than a long-form book, but I wrote it that way intentionally. Personally, I don't have the time or attention span to spend 15 hours poring over a book...so I wrote Branded for people like me.
5. What are the main things you hope to accomplish through your book?
I hope to both challenge and encourage Christians who have found themselves either in a spiritual rut or in a position where they are embarrassed at how Christians are perceived. The way evangelism is and the way evangelism is supposed to be are not the same thing...and I hope Branded gives readers permission to do what God calls them to, not what the American church often tells them to.
6. How does your relationship with God play into your writing?
It's everything. I write based on what God is teaching me at the time. Do I have all the answers? Absolutely not. However, writing helps me think through situations...and hopefully helps others think through them as well. Honestly, the discussion that comes from my blogs and books can be just as helpful as the actual words themselves.
7. How has your job as a radio personality on a popular Christian Radio station prepared you to write this book?
I have the opportunity to talk to (and with) nearly a quarter of a million people every week on our radio show, so that gives me a pretty good handle on our culture (especially the Christian culture). My regular interactions with other radio stations and businesses who want to better market themselves gives me a pretty good handle on marketing. Put those two things together and, voila, you get Branded.

BRANDED: SHARING JESUS WITH A CONSUMER CULTURE by Tim Sinclair
How do we share Jesus with a consumer culture? In "Branded: Sharing Jesus with a Consumer Culture," Tim Sinclair boldly declares that sharing Jesus has absolutely nothing to do with mass-marketing and everything to do with being personally branded by Christ, permanently marked by our Saviour. BRANDED is a clarion call to turn the Christian hourglass over, to make drastic changes in order to see new progress. It is all about branding Jesus and becoming branded by Him ourselves. Tim Sinclair specifies that when it comes to sharing Jesus with the world around us, it is crucial that we acknowledge our own unique talents and abilities and use them effectively to reach out to people within our own circle and sphere of influence. As Tim states so clearly, there is no "one-size-fits-all" methodology. How do people see you? When they look at you, what do they see? Do they see love? When love is authentically lived out in a person's life, it stands out brightly in today's world. Do they see you as a lover of Jesus who cannot help but share Him? Do you speak about your love for Christ to the world? As a Christian, you inadvertently advertise Jesus wherever you go. Tell your story with your own particular flair and style, boldly, confidently, as open and honestly as you can. Show the world how Jesus can make a striking and significant difference in your daily life. The story of your walk with Christ is your most powerful tool. Be a bright and shining example of the extraordinary power of Christ to transform a person's life and make it totally new! Make those around you want to believe! Your own life is your greatest testimony! Remember the words of St. Francis of Assisi: "Preach the gospel at all times - if necessary use words." Tim Sinclair, a top-flight communicator in today's hi-tech, consumer-oriented world, exhorts Christians to promptly sign on for a world-class marketing campaign for the Saviour and to share their faith honestly in authentic ways for God's glory. © MIRIAM JACOB FTC Regulations Compliance
