A NEW DAY DAWNS
A new day dawns,
Beautifully adorned with light,
Bathing the earth
In an iridescent splendour.
Man revels in God's Creation,
Man thrives in God's Plan,
But wait......
Something is amiss......
Where are the rest
Of our brothers and sisters?
"Am I my brother's keeper?"
Retorted guilt-ridden Cain,
As Abel's blood seeped slowly
Through the earth's crust.
Is mankind united in Christ?
Are we truly one?
If we are......
Please tell me......
Where are the rest
Of our fellow-citizens?
THE LOVE OF CHRIST
O,the deep,deep love of Christ,
It truly surpasses all knowledge,
Who can ever really understand
The depth of the love of God?
What have we ever done
To merit such a great love?
Why are we so privileged
To partake of the love of God?
O,how blest are we
To always be the happy recipients
Of God's love,
To be so fondly held
In the palm of God's Hand.
O,the deep,deep love of Christ
That came searching for the sinner,
Calling to all to receive
Salvation and eternal life.
CONVERSION
Conversion,
That blessed experience,
So precious to the Christian.
The moment of decision,
The triumph of the hour,
When all sins were washed away,
And a new soul was born anew.
The new-born heart fluttered,
As the Holy Ghost came in,
The mind melted into purity,
Before the awesome Almighty,
As Father,Son and Holy Ghost,
Claimed the precious soul.
Satan fled in sin and shame,
As he lost yet another claim,
For the soul that had borne his name,
Now belonged to a greater Power.
All Creation rejoiced at the new birth,
One more was added to the precious fold,
Christ's blood was not shed in vain,
One more soul had found pure gold.
One more soul,
Yet one more,
What joy in heaven and on earth,
All Creation rejoiced at the new birth,
The triumphant birth of a soul.
THE CHRISTIAN
Purchased with the priceless blood of Christ,
Shed for you and me on Calvary,
Where our Lord Supreme hung and died,
For love alone - of the highest kind.
The beauty of Christ,
On the Christian's face shines,
With a disarming smile,
Amidst sorrow.
Tossed and turned,
In the fire of affliction,
Only to emerge,
A solid rock.
Firm in the faith,
Strong in the Lord,
Untainted and free,
A true Christian.
A rose among thistles,
A pearl among pebbles,
A glorious diadem,
In this world of woe.
Put here for a purpose,
In this world of sin and bitterness,
To portray the Living Christ,
And to be for Him a witness.
Arise O youth of today,
And give your heart to the Lord,
Who so selflessly died for Thee,
On the cross of Calvary.
Arise and let us sing,
For Christ our Lord and King,
Our one and only Light,
And the true object of our sight.
To God our vision we trace,
To Christ we address our praise,
To heaven and all the heavenly hosts,
Our joyous anthems we raise.
THE WALK
I walked slowly,
Silently soaking in
The serene solitude
Of a sequestered garden,
When a series of strange impressions
Pierced into the deepest depths
Of my consciousness,
And startled me.
I stood still
In agitated hesitation,
Poised to beat a speedy retreat,
When all at once I became aware
Of the strangest sense of freedom
Overwhelming me.
An elevating sense of exhilaration,
An ecstatic exuberance of feeling,
A vibrant mood of exultation,
Accompanied by the sweetest liberation,
Advanced ambitiously
Into the precincts
Of my enlivened heart.
It was a rapturous touch
From the Divine.
My soul revelled
In its new-found ecstasy,
And I stood upright,
Winner of the field.
THE JOURNEY
The dusty road winds on and on,
The hot mid day sun beats down,
It is a long day's journey,
And the traveller is weary,
A resting-place is needed,
Where can one be found?
The traveller finally stops,
His mind unsound,
He cannot plod on,
He sinks unsteadily to the ground,
But before his head touches the sand,
Out of nowhere appears a Hand,
Bearing a nail-pierced mark,
The Hand Of Christ.
It lifts the weary traveller's head,
It smooths the tired brow,
And at the touch of the Divine Hand,
A million volts surge through the man,
The awe-inspiring power of Christ.
Up jumps the traveller,
Instantly rejuvenated,
And hand in hand with His Saviour,
He walks on and on,
Endued from above,
With never-failing strength,
And courage to last
Till his journey's end.
BAND OF BELIEVERS
We are
A band of believers,
From different backgrounds,
With a single goal.
United for one cause,
United to one God,
United into the divine family,
Of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sharing a single dream,
Sharing a single hope,
Sharing a single vision,
The salvation of souls.
Thus we march on,
Looking to God alone,
In faith,
For all our needs.
For we are seeds,
Planted in God's earth,
Watered with Christ's love,
Bathed in the divine sunlight,
Of God's Holy Spirit.
Together we are growing,
Sprouting shoots and leaves,
To become stalwart trees,
In God's divine garden,
That wonderland called Heaven.
LEAD EACH DAY
Lead each day
As the Lord leads,
Lead each day
As the Lord guides,
Lead each day
As the Lord provides,
And He will richly suffice
For all your needs.
Lead each day
In His great mercy,
Lead each day
In His great love,
Lead each day
In His great providence,
And He will richly suffice
For all your needs.
Lead each day
In the light of the Lord,
Lead each day
In the brilliance of His sunshine,
Lead each day
In the radiance of His person,
And immerse yourself
In the warmth of His love.
KEEP YOUR GAZE UPON CHRIST
This world will sting, burn and scorch you,
If you permit yourself to be,
Engulfed in its fiery clutch.
Sorrowful victim of circumstances,
Product of a fallen race,
Striving ever so bitterly,
To emerge from the cocoon,
Of darkness and despair,
Engulfing you.
Keep your gaze upon Christ,
And you will doubtless find,
Your darkness turning
Into the most radiant
Of lights,
Your sorrow into joy,
Immeasurable joy,
And your entire soul,
Filled with the
Divine presence
Of God.
Do not look
Left or right,
Front or back,
At the bitter darkness
Of this world.
Instead let your gaze,
Be focused upon
The ever-glowing brightness
Of Christ.
SUNRISE OF HOPE
Hope rises in our hearts
like the sunrise over a
snow-capped mountain peak,
reaching up to the skies.
Hope gives us gladness
from dawn to dusk,
flooding our souls with
heaven's sweetest music.
Hope assures us of a
rousing victory over defeat,
of a glorious certainty
that the best is yet to come.
Hope opens our eyes
to the beauty of life
and the tranquil walk of faith.
Hope makes us aware
of a God of compassion and kindness,
who touches our wintry despair
with His amazing love.
In the midst of life's stormy seas,
we will have perfect peace,
if Christ is our Captain,
our hope and our guide.
Ring the joybells of life
as we fly on the wings of hope,
with Christ as our Pilot.
Enjoy the glorious sunrise
of hope over the mountains of life.
