DIVINE WHISPERER
It started with a whisper When first You called my name; The promise of, “I love you! No matter what the pain!”
You whispered of Your Presence In each and every day, And I clung to You so tightly When those words You came to say.
But life, it came and sought me, And I turned from You to go Never knowing that I left You Or the pain it caused You so.
Through many lands I journeyed, Your whisper always there. But I was just too busy. I simply didn’t care.
My days weren’t filled with laughter, Much sorrow, I knew it, too. Yet faithfully You whispered, “Remember! I love you!”
We knew the pain together, Though I didn’t understand That You were always present, So I didn’t take Your hand.
Your love it stood beside me Each land I journeyed through And every where that whisper Kept wooing me back to You.
You whisper still, “I love you! No matter what the pain!” And so You came and sought me And bought me back again.
The pain I know I caused You As I wandered my own way Would only bring me sorrow If I didn’t hear say,
“Remember that I’ve loved you, No matter what the pain. And when you hear Me whisper, Know I’ve given you My Name.”
