LOVE – The Fulfilment of the Law
Love came sweeping on the shore of the lake, Tides of Love, and then, “Behold!” He spoke. “It is I! And Love breaks through, soft breeze through The thorn trees and sharp-taloned birds. Love is the mirror- surfaced shield On which the daggered hatred spins and slides And cannot find a grip.
And only the light shines back at His tormentors. Love, wearing a crown of pain Stronger than the piercing nail, Stronger than splintered and unyielding Instrument of torture. Stronger than evil Stronger than death.
Behold, He says, there will be no words spoken On that day. But understand the line that’s drawn Between the sheep and goats. They that saw me not in want of water, In the least of brothers. The world, drowning in pride of possessions, Thirsts for My love.
Open your eyes He says, And see there is no sin my Love has not yet covered. And you, forgiven so much Are called to loose the last of clinging pride, Draw back the heavy curtained dark night Of your soul and let the light shine in. And since Love bought you, twisted in The dark of pain, then love until it hurts And gain the crown of life.
