And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works… and so much the more as you see the Day approaching (Heb. 10:24, 25).
As Christian writers we are called to proclaim God’s peace in the midst of chaos, His faithfulness in the midst of faithlessness, His love in the midst of hatred, His life in the midst of death. It is a privilege to do so, but as the time clock of this broken world runs down, we take an increasingly greater risk as we continue to fulfill that call. And yet, what choice do we have? We must be faithful to the call God has placed on our lives, regardless of the cost.
Because we are individuals, the way we fulfill that call reads out differently in each of us, but the message is the same—and it is so desperately needed. Whether we are riding on the high of a current bestseller and/or multiple book contracts, or whether we are in a seemingly endless “holding pattern” while we await that next contract, we must remain faithful to write His vision…and to encourage each other to do the same.
Thank you, each one, for praying for me and for the others in this group; thank you, too, for taking the time to drop notes of encouragement each time God lays them on your heart. As surely as we are being faithful to fulfill God’s calling when we write another chapter for our current work-in-progress, we are also being faithful when we write notes of blessing to others. May we continue to do so all the more as we see the Day approaching!
