From Trial to Triumph By Mellissa Breen
The trials, the tribulations, all the suffering, how could she go on? She felt as all of her life had been an uphill battle, struggling one day after the other to survive. She had made some mistakes in her past that she wasn't proud of, things that still caused her pain today. Deep pain, unsettled issues that she felt like she couldn't be forgiven for, even though she knew God's wonderful saving grace. She felt condemned because she could not undo the mistakes of her past and she so wished that she had done things differently. If only someone had been there to support, encourage and offer her hope things might have been different.
She had struggled with her relationship with Christ all her life, she had wanted so much to serve Him with everything within her, but she wondered at times how he could love such a failure as her. She had even thought of taking her own life, she had hit rock bottom, and had nothing left it seemed to live for. She had struggled and continued on; smiling as she went through the motions of the day, hoping that someone would notice that she needed their love and compassion. Her life had been like a roller coaster ride, one day things going great on top of the world, the next rock bottom. She didn't understand how she could suffer so much. All she wanted was peace and contentment.
She sought after the Father, sweetly whispering Jesus when nothing else would come out. She couldn't understand why she had endured so many trials and tests. Failed marriages, a loss of a child, family separation, addictions, job losses, people trying to destroy her, depression, guilt, she was at the point of giving up on everything. The desert was so bleak, so dry; she was in the pit of despair. Then, but oh, then, along came hope.
The sky was opening up and the rain was beginning to fall, she stood in the midst of the desert as the cool, wet, and drops of rain fell upon her dirty, dry face. The drops began to wash the hurt and despair away. Someone had been praying for her, someone had been placing her needs before the Father. When she was unable to pray for herself or to seek the face of God, someone had been interceding on her behalf. Her friend spoke words of encouragement, she sat with her and said nothing at times, and she was there for her and held her up and told her that the Father loved her wounds and all. Her friend kept on praying when the desert looked long and dry and it looked like there was no hope of tomorrow. Then the rain began to fall, sweet drops from Heaven.
The Father had looked down and He had seen her pain and the suffering that she had endured. He reached down to wipe away the dust and dirt that had so long weighed her down. He had a future for this woman of God. She had endured the fire and the heat of the desert and now He was cleaning her, healing her wounds and preparing her. The love of the Father was pouring down as fresh, renewing rain upon her weary soul. The desert was closing and the newness of the day was upon her. She was beginning to feel His love and compassion and she desired to serve Him, to be faithful with whatever He desired for her. She was ready to be used and to return the love that He had poured upon her. All she desired was to praise and worship the one who brought her through the fire.
She began to see the ministry opportunities open before her and the passion that she had to serve Him was burning within, like a fire shut up in her bones. She was experiencing a relationship with her Savior as never before, the power of the Holy Ghost was upon her in a most powerful way. The feeling of hopelessness and discouragement was beginning to melt into a love and passion for her Savior. Her prayer had become Lord melt me, mold me, make me into the woman that you would have me to be, not only forgive me for my past but allow me to forgive myself, create in me a clean heart O God and a renew a steadfast spirit within me.
She had been through the trials, she had endured the tests, and she had triumphed over tribulation but all through the strength of Her Lord and Savior. If she had lived this life on her own, she would have given up years ago. Her trials had become her triumph; he had brought her through the tests so that she could share her testimony.
I am married with 2 step-children and 1 granddaughter. I have enjoy writing, I feel like God called me into ministry at a young age and I have recently began to fulfill that calling. I have prayed and feel like writing is the avenue that I need to try & pursue. I want to encourage the suffering.
